Rs.2,000 crore allocated to make Hyderabad world-class city Hyderabad: As part of its commitment to make Hyderabad a world-class metropolis, the Telangana government has proposed about Rs.2,000 crore for municipal body, water supply board and Metro rail in the budget for 2015-16. Presenting the first full-fledged budget of Telangana, Finance Minister E. Rajender told the state assembly on Wednesday that an additional 260 million gallons of water per day (MGPD) will be supplied to the city by the end of this year. He said liberal assistance was being given to Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) to complete Krishna Phase-III and Godavari Phase-I water works. "Apart from completely cleansing the Hussain Sagar lake, the government is planning for strategic road and skyline development in Hyderabad city with an amount of Rs.1,600 crore," he said.
