Huawei has pulled the wraps from the MediaPad X2, a sleek 7-inch tablet during its MWC 2015 press conference in Barcelona. The tablet has been improved considerably over its predecessor, the Mediapad X1, which was launched last year.
The latest tablet is thin at 7.28mm and will feature a 7-inch display set at a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. The display makes up for the most of the front facade and the thin bezels impart a sleeker look. The MediaPad X2 is powered by Huawei’s own octa-core, 64-bit Kirin 930 SoC clocked at 2.0GHz.
The photography department is taken care by a 13-megapixel primary snapper and a 5-megapixel secondary camera. The tablet comes with a dedicated ISP chip which claims to boost the low light photography.
The Huawei MediaPad X2 will come in two avatars, one featuring 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage whereas the other one featuring 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard memory. Both the variants have LTE connectivity.
The tablet comes with a 5,000mAh battery that claims to offer 60 hours of music playback, 12 hours of watching videos and 15 hours of Internet browsing. The Huawei MediaPad X2 will be shipped with Android Lollipop out of the box and will be launched in multiple markets including China and Western Europe. There is no word about its India launch or pricing at the moment.
