Inauguration of New Office Premises of NABCONS, ABFL and launching of "First NABARD Deccan Haat"

Chairman, Dr. Harsh Kumar Bhanwala and Deputy  Managing Director, Shri R Amalorpavanathan inaugurated the new office premises of NABARD Consultancy Services Ltd. (NABCONS) at 2nd floor,  NABARD Officers Quarters, Masab Tank, Near Golkonda Hotel,  Hyderabad on 18 March 2015 at 09.30 A.M.    Chairman appreciated the role of NABCONS and expressed that more avenues for consultancy in both States may be explored.  He wished great success for NABCONS in their future role.  DMD inaugurated training centre for MEDP project and capacity building programmes.


Later, Chairman also inaugurated ABFL  (Agri Business Finance Ltd.) office at new premises on 3rd floor NABARD Officers Quarters, Masab Tank, Near Golkonda Hotel,  Hyderabad.  DDM Shri R Amalorpavanathan and other dignitaries were also present.


Chairman and DMD also had Press Conference at ABFL premises.  Main issues discussed were support to Mission Kakatiya, RIDF support to the State of Telangana and integrated support to state of Andhra Pradesh.  Support to SHG groups  was also detailed by Chairman.

 

In the same premises,  “Nabard Deccan Haat”,  a collection of artisans products from nearby States,      inaugurated by our Chairman in the presence of  Shri R Amalorpavanathan, DMD, NABARD and Shri Jiji Mammen, CGM, T & APRO, NABARD, Hyderabad. Among other dignitaries present on the occasion were Shri R.N.Dash, RD, RBI, Hyderabad, Shri R K Rajpur, GM, RBI, Shri Durga Prasad, SLBC Convenor, Andhra Pradesh, Chairmen of RRBs and other Senior Level State Government Officials and Bankers  in the event.  The Mela will remain open from 18 to 24 March 2015 in the above premises.


Speaking on the occasion Chairman  while appreciating the efforts of the R.O in showcasing and selling the artisans’ products emphasised the need to sell these artisans products through wide publicity in print and electronic media and also through e-craft portal which NABARD had sanctioned to eFresh Portal India Ltd, Hyderabad.     Shri R Amalorpavanathan, DMD suggested that this type of Mela which R.O proposes to conduct every year may be conducted in a centrally located places where more visitors can be drawn with wider publicity.   He advised that last day of the Mela should end with workshop like learnings, sales made during the mela, new opportunities encountered, lessons learned, etc.  These should be documented for our future reference.  Shri Jiji Mammen, CGM, T & APRO agreed the suggestions of Chairman and DMD and assured that wide publicity will be given to the products of artisans.  He also informed that every year this type of exhibitions will be arranged by T & APRO as an annual event.

39 stalls have been erected.  Artisans particularly trained under MEDP, SHG programmes, TDF projects of NABARD, from Maharashtra, Tamilnadu, Odisha, Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh States have  been participated with their products.   The artisans from Tamilnadu   displayed Papier Machie wall hangings, face masks, dolls made of coconut shells and Pattamadai Designer fine mats, whereas the artisans from Maharashtra have displayed Kossa sarees, Paithari sarees, silk sarees and Kollahpuri chappals.  Artisans from Odisha showcased Handloom and wooden crafts materials whereas the artisans from Kerala displayed pottery items.  The artisans from Andhra Pradesh  showcased Herbals, Honey products, wooden crafts, handicrafts, doormats, Leather puppets, dress material, artificial jewellery and brass and lace items whereas the artisans from Telangana State displayed   Pochampally sarees, blankets, Nighties, photo frames, banjara bags and imitation jewellery.
